Ember Crown Saga

Ember Crown Saga is a surprisingly full RPG for a phone. You gather a party, level them up, and pick abilities that actually change how fights play out. Combat is turn-based with a small timing element on some skills, which keeps you paying attention instead of tapping autopilot.

The writing carried me further than I expected. Characters have their own voices, and the main quest has a couple of turns I didn't see coming. It respects your time too: you can save mid-battle and jump back in later, which matters on mobile.

It does lean into grinding a bit in the middle chapters, so pace yourself. But if you want a proper adventure to chip away at over a couple of weeks, this one earns its spot.
